MDM Water

The SaaS Metering Data Management solution by Engineering for measurement management in the water sector.

What is it?

The SaaS Metering Data Management solution by Engineering for measurement management in the water sector.

Within Engineering’s Smart Energy & Utilities platform, Neta Open Suite, the solution manages both large and small water meters, regardless of model or communication technology.

The implementation of the new module is driven by:

  • Regulatory push for technological advancement in the water sector, including the introduction of remote reading (Resolution 609/2021/R/idr and TIMSII update)

  • Investments from the Italian NRRP (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) Measure M2C4.4 Investment 4.2, aimed at reducing losses in water distribution networks, digitalization, and network monitoring

  • Structural issues in Italy’s installed meter base. including aging infrastructure, low accessibility, and limited digitalization.

MDM Water serves as a single access point for business and residential users' metering data. It covers the entire reading management process, from Acquisition to Diagnostic Validation, including Normalization, and supports asset management with advanced analysis and monitoring functionalities through dashboards and reporting tools

The solution is natively integrated with Neta2A, ensuring end-to-end coverage of Meter-to-Cash processes (Billing, Credit Management, CRM). It centralizes data acquisition from all SAC systems and walk-by/drive-by solutions, providing a single tool to monitor metering data acquisition, meter status, and network conditions.

By centralizing readings in MDM Water, utilities benefit from a single source of truth, easily integrated with Engineering or third-party solutions. This enables automation, new data analysis capabilities, and standard data flows that reduce project timelines for product evolution and customization.

How does it work?
