Mission
Distribution utilities (DSOs) conduct many meter readings per day, often dealing with challenging volatile appointments and hard-to-reach meters, such as those placed underground. The main challenges to face are errors and inefficiencies when manually recording meter readings on paper in poor weather conditions, inaccurate billing and customer dissatisfaction.
Solution
The solution involves the integrated use of GIS, AR and AI mapping to optimise the work of personnel. Thanks to Computer Vision, technicians can automatically detect and collect data from meters, using mobile or hands-free devices. The software reads the data, fills in the forms and forwards the information to the system in real-time, even offline. The solution allows:
- integration with the GIS system
- the recognition of images to identify possible obstacles
- the generation of design hypotheses through the evaluation of environmental constraints
- the automatic compilation of documentation, such as inspection report, technical file, authorisation form and estimate.
