Inauguration of "Imperia. Remembers, Lives, Imagines"

The Multimedia Exhibition that tells the story, territory, and the future of the city.

A project created by Municipia (Engineering Group) as part of the Special Public-Private Partnership Agreement (PSPP) with the Municipality of Imperia, aimed at enhancing the city's memory and identity through digital innovation.

The cultural and digital enhancement of the Imperia Musei museum network continues: following the launch last October of the new online portals (www.imperiamusei.it) — developed by Municipia S.p.A. (Engineering Group), another important step has been added to the project for promoting and managing the city’s museum heritage in an integrated way.

This morning, at the Expo Salso area, the official inauguration of "Imperia. Remembers, Lives, Imagines" took place — the first multimedia exhibition dedicated to the city’s history and evolution.

The exhibition was created by Municipia — the Engineering Group company focused on the digital transformation of cities of all sizes and smart city projects — as part of the Special Public-Private Partnership Agreement (PSPP) with the Municipality of Imperia for the enhancement, promotion, and management of the city's museum network.

Contributors to the project included Dr. Mariateresa Anfossi for scientific coordination and content supervision, eBag srl for multimedia setup, and the Solidarietà e Lavoro Cooperative for visitor reception and surveillance services.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Claudio Scajola, Mayor of Imperia, and Marcella Roggero, Councillor for Culture, Museums, Universities, Events, and Sports, along with numerous civil and military authorities and a delegation from local schools.

This project was born from the desire to tell the story of Imperia in a new, engaging, and accessible way, through the use of digital innovation,” said Mayor Claudio Scajola. “It adds another piece to the process of enhancing our city’s museums that we started with Municipia, which has led to exponential visitor growth in recent years. This project, thanks to the smart use of technology, builds a bridge between the stories of the past and what we can become.”

The collaboration that Municipia is carrying out with the Municipality of Imperia is a virtuous example of how innovative synergies between the public and private sectors can generate value for the territory,” said Stefano De Capitani, Vice President of Engineering and CEO of Municipia. “In this newly inaugurated multimedia exhibition, we bring the technological expertise of the Engineering Group to offer a new approach to telling the story of a community rich in history, showing how digital tools can make cultural heritage more accessible, engaging, and appealing to new generations — enhancing the city's tourism offer as well.”

The multimedia exhibition features an innovative and interactive itinerary that narrates the history of Imperia through thematic pathways. These include: the city’s historical and territorial development; its distant past — illustrated through the characters of Cesare Ferro Milone’s fresco in the City Council Hall; the 20th century and its notable figures; and the present and future of the city, including urban regeneration projects currently transforming Imperia.

The exhibition setup includes video installations, interactive touch stations, educational panels, and a dedicated web app to create a more immersive visitor experience.
