Engineering joins the United Nations' Global Digital Compact
Engineering, a leading company in digital transformation for businesses and public administration, has signed the United Nations' Global Digital Compact, an initiative aimed at fostering a fair, inclusive, and secure digital ecosystem on a global scale.
“The impact of AI and emerging technologies on society and the economy is undeniable and rapidly unfolding before our eyes. As technology providers, we can contribute not only by delivering top-tier services but also by guiding the adoption of these new tools with the goal of promoting equitable progress, respecting human rights, and creating opportunities for individuals and communities alike,” said Maximo Ibarra, CEO of Engineering Group. “Our commitment to the Global Digital Compact stems from our belief that a Group like Engineering, with a long-standing history as a strategic partner for businesses and public institutions in our country, must support a growth model where innovation and social well-being go hand in hand. This commitment is reflected in our ongoing development of AI-powered solutions like EngGPT, designed to ensure a positive societal impact and a more inclusive digital future,” Ibarra concluded.
By joining the Global Digital Compact, Engineering strengthens its commitment to promoting responsible digital practices and contributing to the establishment of global standards for technology governance.
In particular, the company commits to:
supporting the development of solutions aimed at bridging the digital divide and accelerating progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals
expanding inclusion and the benefits of the digital economy for all
promoting responsible, fair, and interoperable data management approaches
improving AI governance to ensure it is safe and free from bias.
The Global Digital Compact is an international commitment that brings together governments, businesses, and civil society organizations from 193 countries to ensure that digital technologies serve the common good while safeguarding human rights, cybersecurity, and equitable access to digital resources. The initiative is structured around five key pillars, including personal data protection, the promotion of ethical AI, the fight against online disinformation, and the creation of accessible digital infrastructure on a global scale.
