Engineering achieves a "B" score from CDP Climate Change
Engineering, a leading company in digital transformation for businesses and public administration, has improved its CDP Climate Change rating, moving from a C to a B score. This positions the company at the Management level among organizations that address the environmental impacts of their activities and ensure their effective management.
Engineering has not only achieved but surpassed the B- target set for 2024 in its Sustainability Plan. It is among the global companies that have reported their commitment in terms of governance, impacts, risks, and opportunities related to climate change.
The key strengths that contributed to this score improvement include the solid structure of its Decarbonization Plan, with targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), as well as the verification of submitted information by an independent third-party entity. Additionally, CDP recognized a significant strengthening of the company’s governance on environmental matters.
Maximo Ibarra, CEO of Engineering, stated: "The improvement of our CDP score is the result of the Group’s continuous commitment to developing decarbonization strategies through the application of technology and digital solutions. This not only enhances internal processes but also strengthens partnerships with clients and stakeholders. Achieving the Management level in CDP Climate Change is a source of pride and motivation to continue along a path where AI and digital solutions will offer ongoing opportunities."
Regarding environmental sustainability, Engineering has undertaken a journey aimed at achieving decarbonization goals in its operations. This includes investments in energy efficiency, the transition of its corporate vehicle fleet to hybrid and electric vehicles, and the procurement of electricity from renewable sources.
The CDP score upgrade and the company’s commitment to defining science-based CO2 emission reduction targets—validated by SBTi in August 2024—serve as tangible recognition of Engineering’s dedication to combating climate change, which remains central to its corporate strategy.
CDP, an international non-profit organization that monitors the greenhouse gas emissions of companies and institutions, as well as the strategies they implement to address climate change, aims to enhance transparency regarding environmental impact. It also supports investors and financial stakeholders in making informed investment and partnership decisions based on companies’ CDP scores.
