A delegation from the Transport Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, led by President Deidda, visits the Data Center in Pont Saint Martin
Engineering, a leading company in digitalization processes for businesses and Public Administration, today welcomed a delegation from the Transport Committee of the Chamber of Deputies at its Data Center in Pont Saint Martin. The delegation included the President, Salvatore Deidda, and Majority MP Enzo Amich from the XI Commission (author of a bill on data centers). They were accompanied by the Vice President of the Aosta Valley Region, Luigi Bertschy.
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the cutting-edge technological solutions used in the management, protection, and storage of data at the Data Center, a strategic asset of the Engineering Group led by Maximo Ibarra.
The Pont Saint Martin facility, employing over 300 workers from the Aosta Valley, ensures the highest certification levels in the industry, along with sustainability and security standards. Together with the Group’s other two Data Centers located in Turin and Vicenza, it supports the management of approximately 25,000 servers, 250,000 workstations, a network of 18,000 devices, over 2 million tickets per year (service requests from users), and disk storage exceeding 10 petabytes.
Represented by Marco Valentini, Group Public Affairs Director, and Alessandro Spigaroli, Executive Director Cloud, Engineering presented the features of its Data Center, one of the most advanced facilities in Italy. They emphasized how continuous investments over the years have focused on quality, security, and sustainability to meet the needs of clients and partners.
Highlighting the exceptional level of energy efficiency achieved through significant upgrades to the cooling systems in recent years, the Pont Saint Martin Data Center recorded a significant reduction in its PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) in 2023, the parameter that measures a facility's energy sustainability.
Among the benefits of the Data Center's new system configurations is the complete elimination of methane consumption during the year: part of the heat from the return water circuit is recovered and used to heat offices, allowing the gas heating system to be entirely decommissioned.
The Vice President of the Aosta Valley Region, Bertschy, stressed that the collaboration with the Engineering Group has been a cornerstone for regional development for years.
Fabio Momola, Executive Vice President of Engineering, stated: “We thank President Deidda, MP Amich, and Vice President Bertschy for their visit to the Pont Saint Martin Data Center. Alongside the other two data centers in Vicenza and Turin, it represents the beating heart of our clients’ digital evolution and is fundamental for the secure and efficient management of data, both in the public and private sectors. This visit reaffirms the importance of continuous dialogue between the industrial and political spheres to jointly build a more sustainable and inclusive digital future.”
