Engineering supports TechSoup to improve monitoring of therapies for individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder
Engineering renews its support for the second consecutive year to TechSoup Italia, a social enterprise that helps Third Sector organizations grow and innovate by promoting digital culture, providing access to IT products at affordable costs, and developing tailored technological solutions.
Thanks to Engineering's support, a company leading in process digitalization and headed by Maximo Ibarra, TechSoup Italia will continue implementing the necessary improvements to extend the ABA.CO application to more care centers. This innovative digital tool, usable via smartwatch and smartphone, enables therapists to record real-time data on intervention sessions based on behavior analysis principles for individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Maximo Ibarra, CEO of Engineering, stated: "Technology is an extraordinary tool when it concretely improves people's lives, making services not only more accessible and inclusive but also capable of effectively addressing complex and real societal needs. This is why I am particularly proud of the support offered to TechSoup Italia, which demonstrates how digital technology can make a difference even in sensitive contexts like those of individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This initiative fully reflects our vision of digital innovation aimed at collective well-being."
Fabio Fraticelli, CEO of TechSoup Italia, commented: "Engineering's initiative is a tangible example of the new paradigm of collaboration between the Profit and Non-Profit sectors: companies are not just resource providers but true enablers of social impact. Our role as a Social Enterprise is to facilitate this connection between the Profit sector and the Third Sector, introducing digital technology as a key factor in driving social impact. Thanks to Engineering and its support for this project, the IL FARO Cooperative will enhance its ability to assist its beneficiaries. This is a concrete example of social innovation generating shared value."
Developed in collaboration with Il Faro, a Social Cooperative committed to offering care, support, and listening to children, youth, families, individuals with disabilities, women victims of violence, and the elderly, ABA.CO is part of the STARGATE project funded by the Complementary Fund to the PNRR for Earthquake Areas – Next Appennino. ABA.CO allows for the configuration of personalized curricula for each child and monitors behavioral progress, thus offering a truly data-driven approach to treatment strategies.
Already used at the Centro Orizzonte, an outpatient rehabilitation center for neurodevelopmental disorders, autism, and learning disabilities, ABA.CO has proven to enhance reliability, efficiency, and transparency in therapeutic data collection, enabling care teams to make more informed decisions.
