Engineering receives the Special Award for Social Committment from BBS - Biblioteca Bilancio Sociale
Engineering, a leader in the digital transformation of public and private companies and organisations, has been putting digitisation at the service of citizens and the community for over 40 years, enabling technology to meet not only the needs of business but also those of civil society. In acknowledgement of this commitment, Engineering has once again been awarded the special "Social Commitment" prize at this year's edition of BBS - Biblioteca Bilancio Sociale, in recognition of its "Attention to the community as the cultural and social growth of our country, where science, social culture, art and universities are united through inclusion, participation and circular economy".
BBS - Biblioteca Bilancio Sociale (Library of Social Reports) is the central resource for social, environmental and sustainability reports at national level. Every year it selects and highlights the contents of the sustainability reports published by Italian companies that have opted for a model of socially responsible development, with the aim of sharing visions and good practices by sharing their experiences.
As Concetta Lattanzio, Corporate Social Responsibility Director at Engineering underlines “We are particularly proud of this prestigious award from the BBS, which confirms the importance of Engineering' daily commitment to contributing towards the country's social growth, not only through our core business, which focuses on digitisation and innovation, but also through an approach of strong corporate responsibility that promotes inclusion, participation and sustainability.”
For Engineering, Digital Transformation is the main enabler of social, environmental and economic sustainability. This was the case especially in the last year: during the most critical moments of the pandemic, when the Group worked closely with Italy to implement and support Digital Transformation projects aimed at creating inclusive, sustainable digital ecosystems capable of protecting communities.
Since 2013 Engineering Group has drawn up Corporate Social Responsibility Reports on a yearly basis to show stakeholders its commitment to sustainable development.
Specifically, in the social sphere, its responsibility is reflected in its personnel management policies - such as the recognition of merit, continuous training, the promotion of talent, the development of skills, work-life balance and welfare. It is also reflected in its support for the community through projects for digital education, social inclusion, reducing the gender gap, combating cyberbullying, as well as its support for cultural and humanitarian initiatives that pursue the Group's objective of contributing to creating shared value for the community.
In recent years this commitment has also been confirmed by Engineering's inclusion in the Financial Times ranking - Diversity Leaders Award 2020 - for its commitment to employee management in the belief that the human and professional qualities of people are fundamental for business growth. This substantial characteristic is also shown by the inclusion of Engineering do Brasil last year among the "Great Places To Work" and by the award in HR Innovation received by the Group in the category "Talent Attraction", assigned during the presentation of the HR Innovation Practice Observatory of Politecnico di Milano, for having transferred the process of searching, selecting and hiring new employees to a single digital platform.
