Tech4You - Technologies for climate change adaptation and quality of life improvement

Tech4You aims to develop technologies for adaptation to the climate crisis by enhancing the resilience of communities and reducing the economic gap.

Challenge
In recent years, there has been an increase in extreme events related to climate change, whose effects are directly proportional to the vulnerability of the territory. In this context, Tech4You addresses the issue of climate change adaptation and ecological transition from five perspectives: natural risk, energy, food, culture, and healthy communities.
Approach

Tech4You proposes a collaborative innovation ecosystem where public R&D actors implement technology solutions within specific innovation verticals (Spokes), coordinated by a central Hub. Objectives include:

  • mitigating natural risk through satellite technologies;
  • developing early warning systems and Nature-Based solutions;
  • reducing energy needs through decarbonization and waste recycling;
  • enhancing food sustainability with smart agriculture;
  • adapting cultural heritage to extreme climate events and improving its accessibility;
  • building resilient and healthy communities.

The project aims specifically to create a sustainable innovation ecosystem in the Basilicata and Calabria regions.

Solution
Tech4You proposes a flexible, value-focused approach and utilizes a Knowledge Management System to monitor technology maturation, maximizing final impact. Community engagement, connecting research and businesses, and skills development will drive the growth and consolidation of innovation ecosystems (researchers, organizations, companies, and policymakers). Eng participates in Spoke No. 6 by designing and implementing the platform, ensuring transparent back-end mechanisms for sensors and IoT, and designing user interaction interfaces. Eng will also manage the integration of solutions provided by other partners. The project is funded under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Mission 4, Component 2, Investment 1.4, financed by the European Union - NextGenerationEU.
