Virtual MAXXI: the (virtually) perfect exhibition

The Museum innovates the cultural offering through Virtual Reality, broadening its audience and attracting young generations.

Where: Italy
Challenge
MAXXI - National Museum of the XXI Century Arts - is a reference point for architecture and contemporary art at national level and, as such, stands out for the innovativeness of its offer. How can a reality of this type enhance precious and delicate architectural models that cannot be physically exposed?
Approach
A solution that at the same time attracts the younger audience and becomes viral: an exhibition entirely based on Virtual Reality.

Solution
Digital Ecosystem

Thanks to our multidisciplinary teams, we have digitized the models of the greatest contemporary architects – from Campo Baeza to De Feo, from Rossi to Sacripanti – ensuring a high level of scientific rigor for each 3D model created. These models have been made fully explorable in every detail through an immersive app, accessible via virtual reality headsets.

The exhibition was on permanent display for two years at the MAXXI, achieving great success among visitors and providing the museum with significant visibility, thanks to the innovative solution presented. We managed the entire project, designing the user experience by starting with the study of the physical space and analyzing the ways in which users interact with the app. The exhibition is entirely digital and can be replicated in countless museum and artistic contexts.
