inteGRIDy: a scalable cross-functional platform connecting energy networks

Integrated and cross-functional smart GRID solutions for optimized synergetic energy distribution.

Where: international
Challenge
The project aims to improve the efficiency of the Distribution Grid and makes the distribution domain of a smart grid network more agile and competitive. It uses a set of well-defined technologies and solutions, integrating them into a Cross Modular Platform.
Approach
The inteGRIDy project leverages the consortium’s extensive knowledge in the field of energy management, ICT domain, automation and control systems, energy services and storage systems to break the barriers of flexibility of the existing electricity networks. At the same time, it provides a high degree of integrated and flexible solutions to the distribution domain itself. inteGRIDy aims to extend and integrate existing technologies in a framework of innovative tools to support the different stakeholders of Smart & Micro grid.
Solution

inteGRIDy developes technologies, solutions and mechanisms which broaden the use of Demand Response (DR) schemes with highly engaged consumers/prosumers, and enables the use of advanced tools for increasing the capabilities of monitoring and control of the electricity grid distribution domain. It is supported by flexible energy management services, targeting the optimum use of the RES. inteGRIDy framework is validated in 10 different pilots in 8 EU countries.

Engineering is responsable of the design of the overall inteGRIDy software architecture as well as of the core technology developments, mainly focused on the optimization of the Distribution Grid (DG). We are also the main technological partner of the Terni pilot.

The project has received co-funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 programme - Contract No. 731268
