Use Case

Control of transit permits for disabled people

ABSTRACT
How digital technology prevents the falsification of disabled permits and enables faster checks in the Low Emission Zone (LEZ)

Where: italy
Mission
Reduce emissions by eliminating the most polluting vehicles (LEZ) and monitor permits to ensure social inclusion.
Solution
An effective and automatic verification system to solve the problem of forgery and abuse of transit permits for disabled people. The collected data is aggregated and verified directly by INES Cloud, our platform for the complete management of urban mobility processes for Smart Cities, which indicates the vehicles need to be sanctioned.

Actions
Digital Ecosystem
By using an RFID tag in the CUDE (European Uniform Disability Identity Card), permits are immediately identifiable via the RFID gates integrated in the LEZ access points. Information from sensors allows to develop new features to check the validity of the badges reserved for disabled people.
Expected results

Statistics of CUDE authorized or unauthorized vehicles

Automatic calculation of unauthorized transits in the LEZ, aggregated on a time basis and for RFID gates
