BBCE: Enabling digital initiatives on energy sector

Together with Engineering Brasil, BBCE created a trading system to automate contract negotiation on energy sector. System was developed on top of Engineering API Management Platform.

Challenge
Founded in 2012, BBCE is a leading infrastructure and energy business. With more than 40 shareholders, including the largest multinationals in the sector, it is responsible for the only trading platform in the physical market with large volume and liquidity. The company needs to create a platform to automate contract negotiation, called EHUB.
Approach
Through consultancy services and using solutions developed by Engineering, the creation of a platform for trading derivatives in the electricity sector via an electronic trading desk was made possible.
Solution
Engineering solution DHuO API+ was chosen to carry out all the governance and security of the API layers developed by company. So it was created a new business model, which is electricity derivatives by implementing an API-based platform to allow financial sector agents (banks, brokers, etc.) to carry out transactions with electricity futures contracts. Also, DHuO solution allowed BBCE to create API productization strategies, allowing it to be offered and segmented for different services and markets. Thus, users have access to the EHUB platform services, as well as its partners who need to integrate with the APIs provided by it.
