The end of 2024 sees Engineering joining forces with Bridge the Gaps, an organization dedicated to promoting gender equality and encouraging young women to explore technical careers traditionally dominated by men. After the stages in Genoa, Naples, and Catania, Engineering is supporting the 7th edition of hackher_, which will take place in Bari at the iconic Teatro Petruzzelli.

The event will host 100 high school girls from non-STEM backgrounds across Puglia, offering them a transformative experience. The day will be divided into two parts: an hackathon, where participants will work on creating an innovative project, and a training and motivational session, designed to inspire and empower them.

With the guidance of IT experts, including Maria Orlando, Healthcare Sales Director North at Engineering, the girls will tackle creative and technical challenges, discovering the potential of technology and their own abilities. In the afternoon, a conference will feature testimonials from representatives of Puglian institutions dedicated to advancing women’s professional development and legal protection.

The event will conclude with an award ceremony for the project that best addresses the technological challenge posed by the organizers. Maria Orlando and the other jury members will present a monetary prize to the winning team, celebrating an initiative that underscores the value of inclusion and innovation in breaking gender stereotypes.
