The Italian Conference on Big Data and Data Science (ITADATA2023), at its second edition, is the annual event supported by the CINI Big Data National Laboratory that aims to put together Italian researchers and professionals from academia, industry, government, and public administration working in the field of big data and data science, as well as related fields (e.g., security and privacy, HPC, Cloud).
ITADATA2023 aims to discuss and shape the future of Big Data and Data Science in Italy and abroad, considering the multidisciplinary, complex, heterogeneous, and data-centric environment in which modern distributed systems are operating. The ability to timely manage and analyze large amounts of data, and to guarantee low-latency access to the data themselves increasingly become critical requirements and are at the heart of modern business processes. In this context, data science, as the foundation of today's data-driven society, plays the role of developing and defining all the technologies needed to support construction of value on data in multidisciplinary areas at increasing complexity.
Engineering's R&I unit will be present in many panels:
- Dario Avallone, our R&I director, will intervene on September 12th in the panel “Towards European Data Spaces: achievements, challenges, and enabling technologies”, with a speech titled “Data sovereignty: sharing data does not imply losing control on it”.
- Paolo Roccetti will moderate the panel “The importance of data for the protection of essential services and critical infrastructures from cyber-attacks”, on September 11th.
- Rosario Catelli will give a speech titled “Enabling Efficient Network Governance for Autonomous Mobility Transportation in MobiSpaces: Exploring the Application in the Intelligent Public Transport Routing domain”, on September 11th.
- Davide Dalle Carbonare will talk about the TALON project “Bridging the Gap between Intelligence and Efficiency in Industry 4.0”, on September 13th.
