150 clients and more than half of national meters served: the numbers of a leadership

Net@SUITE is specific Engineering's solution for the Energy & Utilities world regarding management of Billing, Metering, Credit Management, CRM and the administrative-logistic area.

A full offer:

  • Integrated water service
  • Gas distribution and sales
  • Electricity distribution and sales
  • Remote heating systems
  • Environmental Hygiene.

Engineering has 150 clients, ranging from the main national players to small-medium enterprises that have strong roots in the territory. The Engineering market quota (by number of meters and customers served) is more than half the total figure. In particular:

  • 40% water market
  • 50% gas market
  • 60% electrical energy market (excluding meters run by ENEL)
  • about 60 million bills issued per year
  • almost 30 million contracts managed (Sales and Distribution).

These figures mean reliability, competence, safeguarding an initial investment and guarantee of continuity. The large customer pool and experience in the processes are a guarantee of covering the many needs: possibility of access to standard solutions, a reduced need for personalization, reduction of project costs.

Net@SUITE guarantees:

  • the application of market standards in application configuration (best practices)
  • a reduction in customer involvement times
  • adherence to sector regulations.

By using the competence of System Integrator, on its own Competence Centers (Sap ERP and IS-U, Siebel) and on 300 migration projects, Engineering can model Net@SUITE and other "best brand" market products according to the software models activated and the customer's operational needs.

Engineering's Net@Suite has been part of Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for CIS (Customer Information Systems) and MDM (Meter Data Management) products for the Energy & Utilities market since 2009.

The Energy & Utilities market amidst changes and new players

Deregulations, company mergers, loss of monopoly positions which require competition through complex, flexible offers: the Energy & Utilities market   has undergone thorough changes in recent years and has been subject to increasingly competitive pressure. IT technologies play a key role in this sector.

At the end of 2003, Engineering acquired Neta, a specialized company, leader in its market. Together they set up Engineering's Utilities Division, the largest Italian company dedicated to this sector: due to size, number of clients and installations of its products on the market.

We began to deal with utilities in 1980; quite a long space of time to allow the company to accrue competences and unique technological and business knowledge or an IT partner, continuously transferred to our products in an innovative manner. The market acknowledges our solution's leadership position that is enriched by its functionality, welcoming new business needs and new sector regulations, also issued in Italy at a fast rate in the years of economic transformation.

The new generation platform, Net@SUITE, created by Engineering for the Energy & Utilities market, has taken up considerable economic and human resources. A strategic choice that has brought about the complete redesign of the previous solution, from both the point of view of functions and that of technological infrastructure, in SOA architecture.

Rationalization, growth, creation of customer loyalty in a market that has become extremely competitive: these are the three variables that the best business success stories will play on in the near future.
